Ahead of International Daughter’s Day on Sunday, Janelle Monáe has released the new single “Say Her Name (Hell You Talmbout)” in collaboration with the African American Policy Forum’s #SayHerName Mothers Network, a community of mothers and family members of Black women, girls, and femmes killed by police. A follow-up to “Hell You Talmbout,” the protest chant that Monáe performed at the 2017 Women’s March in Washington DC, the 17-minute “Say Her Name (Hell You Talmbout)” features Black artists and activists including Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Chlöe x Halle, Tierra Whack, Isis V., Zoë Kravitz, Brittany Howard, Asiahn, Mj Rodriguez, Jovian Zayne, Angela Rye, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Brittany Packnett Cunningham, and Alicia Garza. Proceeds from the track will benefit the African American Policy Forum.

Just a few days before it was scheduled to start, Bonnaroo 2021 was cancelled earlier this week after flooding caused the grounds to be deemed unsafe. Festival organizers have put together a one-off show in nearby Nashville this weekend for those still in the area. It features a few of the artists that were scheduled to perform at the event: Phoebe Bridgers, Brittany Howard, and Sylvan Esso. It’ll take place at the open-air Ascend Amphitheater on Saturday night and tickets will go on sale tomorrow at 9AM CDT here.
