Back in 2018, Netflix announced a new show anime show called Yasuke, created by LeSean Thomas (of The Boondocks, Legend Of Korra, and other projects), and inspired by the real-life story of an African samurai in 16th century Japan. From the start, we knew LaKeith Stanfield would voice Yasuke and that Flying Lotus would score the series. Earlier this month we got to see a trailer, and now — with Yasuke‘s premiere slated for next week — we get to hear some music.

Flying Lotus did the score for the upcoming Netflix anime series Yasuke. He’s also an executive producer on the show and helped out with crafting the story alongside its creator LeSean Thomas. It’s about the real-life African samurai Yasuke, who is voiced by LaKeith Stanfield in the show, and also adds magic and machines into the mix. The project was first announced back in 2018. It will debut on Netflix on 4/29. The first trailer for the show has just been released, and you can watch it below.

FlyLo Gets Some Help from Ocean Way Audio Last month, Flying Lotus outfitted his L.A. studio with Ocean Way Audio’s HR3.5 monitor system, including dual S18A powered 18” sub woofer cabinets. “For me, the test of a good monitor system is how it sounds on other speakers,” said FlyLo. “The first place I go is out to the car and take a little ride.
