In an unforgettable night at Wilco’s Solid Sound festival, the iconic band joined forces with Billy Bragg and Natalie Merchant to perform Mermaid Avenue live for the very first time. This historic moment marked the culmination of a project that began in 1998, bringing to life the unheard lyrics of folk legend Woody Guthrie.

Fans were treated to a unique experience as Wilco and Bragg played through the album’s tracks, alongside selections from the subsequent volumes. While the duo has performed some of these songs together in the past, this full album rendition was a first, as neither had toured behind the initial releases.

Taking place at the MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA, the performance showcased the rich collaboration that has spanned decades. With Merchant adding her distinctive vocals, the night was a celebration of music and legacy that left attendees buzzing. Clips from the performance have already begun circulating, offering a glimpse of this historic concert.
