Privacy Policy

Background

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 07/06/2026
Website: iRockNashville.com

iRockNashville.com respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using our website, live stream, Progressive Web App (“PWA”), notification features, and related services.

1. Who We Are

iRockNashville.com is an independent online radio station featuring rock, alternative, indie, classic rock, local artists, music news, and related content from Nashville and beyond.

This Privacy Policy applies to iRockNashville.com and any app-like version of the site installed through your browser or device.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect limited information when you visit the site, listen to the stream, install the PWA, enable notifications, interact with our content, or contact us.

This may include:

  • Pages viewed on iRockNashville.com
  • Referring websites or links
  • Browser type and device information
  • Approximate location information, such as country, state, or region, when available
  • Date and time of visits
  • Engagement information, such as approximate time spent on pages
  • Browser-based visitor or session identifiers
  • Notification subscription information if you choose to enable push notifications
  • Information you voluntarily provide through contact forms or email

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the website.

3. Visitor Analytics

We use first-party visitor analytics to understand how people use iRockNashville.com. These analytics help us see things like how many visitors came to the site, which pages were viewed, whether visitors returned, and which content is most useful or interesting.

Our analytics are designed to be privacy-conscious. They may use browser-based identifiers and hashed information to help distinguish visits without intentionally storing raw IP addresses in ordinary analytics reports.

Analytics may include:

  • Page visits
  • Visit dates
  • Referring sources
  • Approximate location when available
  • Browser-based unique visitor counts
  • Engagement timing

These numbers are estimates. A “unique visitor” usually means a browser-based visitor, not a guaranteed unique person. The same person may be counted differently if they use multiple devices, browsers, or private browsing.

4. Progressive Web App Features

iRockNashville.com may be installable as a Progressive Web App. This means you may be able to add the site to your device’s home screen and use it in an app-like experience.

To support this, the site may use browser features such as:

  • A web app manifest
  • A service worker
  • Browser caching
  • Local storage
  • Notification permissions, if enabled by you

These features help provide a smoother app-like experience, faster loading, and optional notifications.

5. Local Storage and App Preferences

The site may store limited information in your browser’s local storage. This may include:

  • Whether you have installed or dismissed the app prompt
  • Notification topic preferences
  • Sleep timer settings
  • Audio resume preferences
  • Basic player state
  • Visitor/session identifiers used for analytics

Local storage stays on your device unless you clear it through your browser or device settings.

6. Push Notifications

If you choose to enable push notifications, iRockNashville.com may store a browser or device push subscription so we can send notifications to that browser or device.

Push notifications may include:

  • Station updates
  • Local artist spotlights
  • Music news
  • Concert alerts
  • Special programming notices

You can turn off notifications at any time through your browser, device, or app notification settings.

Enabling notifications is optional. If you do not enable them, you can still use the website and listen to the station.

7. Audio Player, Sleep Timer, and Smart Resume

The iRockNashville.com player may include features such as a sleep timer or smart audio resume.

The sleep timer may store your selected timer duration or timer end time in your browser so the stream can stop after the selected time.

Smart audio resume may remember whether you intentionally started listening so the player can attempt to resume after interruptions such as a phone call, temporary connection loss, device lock, or returning to the app. If your browser or device blocks automatic resume, the site may show a button asking you to tap to resume.

These features are designed for convenience and may not work the same way on every browser, phone, or operating system.

8. Contact Forms and Email

If you contact us through a form or by email, we may collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, and any other details you choose to include.

We use that information to respond to you, manage station-related communication, and operate iRockNashville.com.

9. Artist Submissions

Artist submission features are planned but are not yet active. If artist submissions are added later, we will update this Privacy Policy as needed to explain what information is collected and how it is used.

Until then, any “Artist Submissions” area may appear as “Coming Soon.”

10. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services to operate, host, stream, maintain, or improve iRockNashville.com. These may include services related to:

  • Website hosting
  • WordPress plugins and site functionality
  • Live audio streaming
  • Radio automation
  • Audio file hosting or storage

  • Embedded players, links, or directory services

11. Music News and AI-Assisted Content

Some music news summaries, bulletins, or audio segments may be assisted by automated tools or third-party services. These services may process article text, headlines, or station-generated scripts in order to create summaries, bulletins, or audio content.

We do not intentionally send private listener information to these services for bulletin generation.

12. Cookies

iRockNashville.com may use cookies or similar browser technologies for site functionality, analytics, preferences, security, or embedded services.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if cookies or local storage are disabled.

13. Children’s Privacy

iRockNashville.com is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

14. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for station operations, analytics, security, legal compliance, or communication.

Analytics records may be retained for a limited period and may be deleted or aggregated over time.

15. Your Choices

You may:

16. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards to protect the website and related systems. However, no website, stream, app, or online service can guarantee absolute security.

17. Links to Other Websites

iRockNashville.com may link to artist websites, ticketing pages, music platforms, social networks, retailers, news sources, or other third-party sites.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or policies of those third-party websites.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Continued use of iRockNashville.com after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.

our story

iRockNashville.com is out-of-the-box radio custom-built for Nashville.
We are an independent internet radio station created to spotlight the music that often falls outside the usual Nashville industry boxes. Our station blends familiar rock favorites, alternative classics, current tracks, independent artists, local bands, and unexpected songs that deserve to be heard. You may hear classic rock, modern rock, alternative, indie, folk-rock, Southern rock, pop-rock, punk, metal, acoustic-driven songs, local Nashville artists, and emerging independent acts. And every hour, we play an “out-of-the-box mystery song” that could be rock, could be metal, could be classic, could be pop, could be a deep-cut, could be a remix, could be a mashup, or could be a song you never heard or one you loved but forgot about. This is radio for listeners who still love discovery.
