In a heartbreaking announcement, Canadian progressive thrash legends Voivod have canceled their entire U.S. tour scheduled for October 2026. The band, known for their innovative sound and electrifying performances, cited a “family health emergency” as the reason for this difficult decision.
Originally set to hit the road from October 8 to October 18, Voivod was poised to bring their unique blend of metal and punk to fans across the country, with support from the Virginia-based band Bat. However, the band took to social media on October 3 to share the news, expressing their sorrow over the situation.
Voivod’s message read, “Dear Fans, it is with heavy hearts that we must cancel the US tour dates with BAT due to family health emergency in the Voivod clan. We would like to say postponed, but we can’t commit to any dates right now.” They also reassured fans that ticket refunds would be processed shortly.
The band has faced significant challenges this year, with multiple members dealing with serious health issues within their families. As they navigate this tough time, the support from fans and fellow musicians has been overwhelming, showcasing the strong community bond in the metal scene.
For now, Voivod has only two upcoming shows: one in Quebec in January 2027 and another at Maryland Deathfest in May 2027. Fans are encouraged to send their love and support during this challenging period.
