In a recent social media exchange, Jake Wolf, the vocalist of Reflections, openly discussed the controversy surrounding the band’s recent lineup changes. Earlier this year, guitarist Patrick “Patty” Somoulay and bassist Francis Xayana exited the Minneapolis-based progressive metalcore band, citing disagreements over Wolf’s alleged support for ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

The departures came amid heightened tensions following ICE’s immigration actions in Minnesota, which had tragic consequences. Xayana was particularly vocal, labeling Wolf an “ICE apologist” as he left the band.

On July 17th, Reflections surprised fans by releasing their final studio album, “Crystal Eyes.” This prompted Wolf to clarify his stance on the issues that led to the band’s upheaval. He expressed frustration over the portrayal of his political beliefs and emphasized that his views were more nuanced than his former bandmates suggested.

Wolf stated, “I have no hate in my heart,” while addressing the backlash he faced. He also hinted at future musical projects outside of Reflections, indicating that he is eager to continue creating without the associated baggage.
