Michael Stipe, the iconic former frontman of R.E.M., is back in the spotlight with his latest release, “Hum Desiderata.” This new track serves as a preview of his upcoming debut solo album, following his recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert where he debuted another song, “The Rest Of Ever.”
“Hum Desiderata” features Stipe alongside vocalist Elizabeth Hatmaker, reciting the classic 1927 poem by Max Ehrmann, set against an instrumental backdrop crafted by Stipe and Andy LeMaster. The track is currently available exclusively on the sound exhibition platform Joyfully Waiting.
In addition to his new music, Stipe recently performed the Rooster theme song, “I Played The Fool,” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with Andrew Watt, showcasing his continued relevance in the music scene.
