VOIVOD Unveils ‘Symphonique’ Album with Orchestra Collaboration

Canadian metal pioneers VOIVOD have taken their innovative sound to new heights with the release of their latest album, ‘Symphonique.’ Recorded live on June 4, 2025, at the Grand Théâtre in Quebec City, this groundbreaking project features the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, blending VOIVOD’s signature prog-infused thrash with orchestral arrangements.

With 12 tracks clocking in at 73 minutes, ‘Symphonique’ transforms classic VOIVOD songs like ‘The Unknown Knows’ and their cover of PINK FLOYD’s ‘Astronomy Domine’ into a cinematic experience reminiscent of a dystopian sci-fi film. Founding drummer Michel ‘Away’ Langevin expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that the orchestral elements elevate the band’s already complex compositions.
