Former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes has opened up about his battle with prostate cancer in a recent interview with Canada’s The Metal Voice. At 68, Holmes, who has been living in Cannes since 2014, is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical expenses.

Holmes revealed that he initially kept his diagnosis private, but the mounting costs of treatment forced him to seek public support. “The good thing is it’s 100% curable,” he stated, emphasizing his determination to overcome this challenge. His wife, Catherine, highlighted the financial strain they are facing, as their insurance only covers emergency treatments.

Despite the difficulties, Holmes remains optimistic. He is grateful for the support he has received so far, which has helped ease the financial burden. As he continues his treatment, he looks forward to returning to the stage and reconnecting with his fans.
