Geddy Lee Shares Spooky Moment with Neil Peart’s Spirit on Tour

In a recent interview with Q107’s Joanne Wilder, RUSH’s Geddy Lee opened up about a remarkable experience he had during the band’s “Fifty Something” comeback tour. The tour kicked off on June 7 in Los Angeles, and Lee recounted a moment that felt like a sign from the late drummer Neil Peart.

After the opening night, while texting guitarist Alex Lifeson from their hotel, Lee noticed a bird that resembled one from the tour’s promotional poster. The bird flew into his room and perched on his bed, creating a surreal connection that Lee described as both shocking and heartwarming.

Lee, who admitted he doesn’t usually believe in signs, found the encounter to be a powerful reminder of Peart, who passed away in January 2020 after a battle with glioblastoma. The band is currently on the road with drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, performing a unique setlist each night from their extensive catalog.

As RUSH continues to tour across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, fans are eager to see how the band honors Peart’s legacy while embracing this new chapter.
