The Doors Announce Release of Live Album from 1970 Tour

The Doors are set to electrify fans with the release of their new live album, Unbound and Dangerous, coming out on October 23. This collection features rare recordings from their legendary 1970 Roadhouse Blues tour, showcasing the raw energy that made their live performances iconic.

Supervised by surviving members Robby Krieger and John Densmore, along with longtime engineer Bruce Botnick, the album captures the essence of the band’s explosive shows across major cities like New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Detroit. Fans can look forward to 16 tracks, including the powerful “When the Music’s Over,” which is already available for streaming.

In a recent statement, Densmore reflected on the album’s significance, noting, “This live album captures that wild spirit” of their performances. Krieger added, “Dangerous equates to excitement,” emphasizing the thrill that fans sought at their concerts. The album will be available on CD, as a 2-LP set on translucent red vinyl, and digitally across all platforms.
