Tony Iommi Shares Positive Update on Lymphoma Battle

In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk,” BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi provided an encouraging health update, revealing that his lymphoma remains in remission nearly 15 years after his diagnosis. The now 78-year-old musician first disclosed his battle with cancer in early 2012, shortly after BLACK SABBATH announced their reunion tour and album.

Iommi mentioned, “It’s — touch wood — all right so far. I still go for more of my checks,” emphasizing his commitment to regular medical evaluations. He expressed gratitude for his medical team, noting that they keep him informed about his health status following blood tests.

Reflecting on his journey, Iommi recalled the moment he learned of his diagnosis, stating, “my whole life changed.” Despite the challenges, he has continued to create music, with his upcoming solo album, “From The Dark,” set to release on October 23. This album features collaborations with singer Jorn Lande and showcases Iommi’s enduring influence in the rock genre.
