While this record may not have been the most celebrated in Korn’s discography, it produced fan-favorites like “Coming Undone” and “Twisted Transistor,” which continue to resonate with listeners today.

In a recent episode of the ‘Behind The Wall’ podcast, Lauren Christy shared insights into the initial challenges the trio faced while working with the nu-metal legends. She recalled, “When we got there, they just thought, ‘Oh, these guys are like pop guys.'” However, after a rocky start, the creative synergy blossomed, leading to the creation of some unforgettable tracks.

Christy described the moment they presented their ideas to Korn’s lead vocalist, Jonathan Davis. “I played it for him, and he said, ‘What the fuck is this?’ and loved it!” This pivotal moment led to an intense three-week session where they crafted 23 songs together, blending their pop sensibilities with Korn’s heavy sound.

The Matrix’s collaboration with Korn not only resulted in chart-topping hits but also forged lasting friendships within the music industry. As Christy put it, “We had the best time with the band. Those guys are awesome, and we’re still friends to this day.” This partnership showcases the magic that can happen when different musical worlds collide.
