U2 Celebrates 50 Years with Surprise Concert in Dublin

U2 marked an incredible milestone by celebrating their 50th anniversary with a surprise concert at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin on September 25. The iconic band returned to their roots, performing a six-song set for a captivated audience of current students and special guests.

The intimate gig featured a mix of classic hits and rarities, including the live debut of their new single, “Silencio,” from the upcoming album, Carnaval De Luz. Bono took the opportunity to share anecdotes from their early days, reminding the audience of drummer Larry Mullen Jr.’s pivotal role in forming the band.

Among the notable attendees were former manager Paul McGuinness and radio personality Dave Fanning, who has been an essential supporter of U2 since their inception.
