Rock Community Unites for L7’s Jennifer Finch Amid Cancer Battle

The rock world is coming together in a powerful show of support for L7 bassist Jennifer Finch, who is currently battling an aggressive form of brain cancer. A GoFundMe campaign launched on July 13 has already raised over $365,000, surpassing its initial goal of $350,000.

Musicians from iconic bands such as Tool, Pearl Jam, Korn, Garbage, Fugazi, and Bikini Kill have stepped up to contribute, demonstrating the tight-knit nature of the rock community. Finch, 59, will be unable to join her bandmates on their upcoming Last Hurrah Tour, but she has encouraged them to continue performing in her absence while she focuses on her treatment.

Among the notable donations, Garbage contributed $8,000, Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament gave $4,500, and Bikini Kill’s Kathleen Hanna donated $5,000. Tool’s Maynard James Keenan and Korn’s Brian ‘Head’ Welch also made significant contributions, showcasing the solidarity within the music industry.

The funds raised will go towards essential care for Finch, including in-home nursing, therapy, and medical equipment, as well as covering out-of-pocket expenses and preserving her artistic legacy. The outpouring of love and support has left Finch and her team feeling truly grateful, with one organizer stating, “you have an army behind you.”
