In a bizarre turn of events at the Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte concert on August 27th at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix, AZ, a 24-year-old woman named Grace Vicente was arrested for stealing an ambulance parked outside the venue.
According to local news reports, Vicente, who works as a correctional officer in New Mexico, allegedly hopped into the running emergency vehicle and took it for a joyride. The escapade ended abruptly when she crashed into a wall and a pickup truck less than two miles from the venue.
Witnesses reported that Vicente passed out in traffic, prompting police intervention. Prosecutors stated that while the ambulance was left running, the keys were not inside, as paramedics had stepped away briefly. Vicente has since been charged with DUI and theft of means of transportation.
Her lawyer noted that she was in Phoenix to enjoy the concert, adding, “She came here to attend a concert … and things just ended up happening that are completely out of her normal nature.”
