This tragic event claimed the life of PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist, “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, along with three others.

Arriving on the scene within minutes, Niggemeyer was the first officer to act, armed only with a Remington 870 shotgun. He described the chaos of that night, where he had to make split-second decisions to save lives. “I had true tunnel vision. I literally didn’t hear or see anything else,” he recalled, emphasizing the emotional toll the incident took on him.
