In a candid discussion on the latest episode of his podcast, Talk O’Tuesdays, SHINEDOWN bassist Eric Bass shared his ongoing battle with mental health and its impact on his faith journey. As he prepares to step away from the band’s late summer 2026 tour for treatment, Bass expressed his feelings of unproductiveness and vulnerability.

“I’m kind of at a point right now where I’m beating myself up about everything I have to do that I haven’t been able to do just because of my mental state,” he admitted. He emphasized the importance of being open about mental health, stating, “I had to say something. If I don’t, people will speculate on all kinds of stuff.”

Despite the challenges, Bass remains grateful for the support he has received. He noted that while he feels disconnected from God at times, he continues to practice his faith. “It’s been really challenging for my faith journey,” he said, highlighting the struggle between his spiritual beliefs and current mental state.

As he focuses on his recovery, Bass encourages others facing similar issues to reach out for help. “It’s not an easy thing to do, to ask for help, but it has to be done,” he concluded. Fans can expect to see him back on stage when he feels ready.
