Korn Begins Recording New Album with Drums in the Studio

Korn is back in the studio, and the excitement is palpable! The nu-metal legends have officially recorded drums for their highly anticipated 15th studio album, the follow-up to 2022’s Requiem.

During a recent appearance on the YouTube channel Drumeo, drummer Ray Luzier’s tech, Mark Bennett, revealed that they’ve tracked Luzier’s parts using a rare Pearl Copper Free Floating snare. “This is what we just finished recording the new record with,” Bennett shared, hinting at the band’s ongoing creative process.

While details about the album remain scarce, fans are eager for more information. Earlier this year, Korn released “Reward The Scars,” their first new song in four years, as part of a collaboration with the video game Diablo IV.

Guitarist Brian “Head” Welch expressed his satisfaction with the slower pace of the album’s development, saying, “I really love the fact that it’s taking a long time.” This will be Korn’s first album without longtime bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, who parted ways with the band after Requiem.

In addition to their studio work, Korn has announced a European tour kicking off on October 18 in Stuttgart, Germany, with Architects supporting. Fans can expect an incredible live experience as Korn returns to the stage after more than a decade away from the continent.
