Former Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye has finally released his long-awaited debut solo album, End Of Innocence, two decades after the inspiration struck him on September 11, 2001. Living in Los Angeles at the time, Kaye was moved to reconnect with his music, dusting off his keyboard for the first time in years as he processed the tragic events unfolding before him.

Despite his illustrious career, Kaye had never felt the urge to create a solo project until that fateful day. He describes the experience as transformative, igniting a passion that had lain dormant. His wife, Dani Torchia, played a significant role in the album’s creation, contributing the heartfelt track “Sweetest Dreams,” which honors first responders.

After years of ups and downs in the recording process, including technology challenges and the loss of some original tracks, Kaye finally completed the album with the support of friends and fellow musicians. He emphasizes that End Of Innocence is meant to be experienced in its entirety, capturing the emotional journey he has undergone since 9/11.

In a generous gesture, Kaye will donate 10% of the album’s profits to the Gary Sinise Foundation, supporting veterans and first responders. As he looks back on his two-decade journey, Kaye remains open to future projects, but only if inspiration strikes again.
