In a recent interview with Rick Beato, Chris Robinson, frontman of The Black Crowes, shared a wild memory from the band’s formative years. He reminisced about a chaotic show in Atlanta with their first band, Mr. Crowe’s Garden, where things took a turn for the insane.

Robinson described a house party organized by their bassist, where the venue was set to be demolished. What was meant to be a fun gathering quickly escalated into chaos as punk kids and skinheads began tearing the place apart. “It was like The Shining, with axes coming through the walls,” he recalled, vividly detailing how some attendees even turned a gas line into a makeshift flamethrower.

Despite the madness, Robinson and his brother Rich had no backup plan for their music careers, facing skepticism from those around them. They were determined to prove the doubters wrong, a sentiment that fueled their rise to fame. “I would rather us fall on our face, than listen to you and fall on our faces,” Chris stated, highlighting their fierce independence in the music industry.
