Nashville Hosts AMERICANAFEST: Highlights from My First Experience

Nashville recently transformed into a vibrant musical playground during AMERICANAFEST, and for a newcomer like me, it was the ultimate introduction to Music City. Over five days, venues across the city, from rooftops to bowling alleys, became stages for artists and fans alike.

The festivities kicked off on September 24, 2026, on Music Row with an official launch party at BMI’s rooftop, featuring artists like Meels and Hayes Carll. The following days were packed with performances and insightful panels, including one on touring and fan engagement.

The highlight? The 25th Annual Americana Honors and Awards at the Ryman Auditorium, where the original Heartbreakers reunited on stage with Chris Stapleton filling in for the late Tom Petty. The energy was electric as they played classics like “American Girl” and “You Wreck Me.”

As the week progressed, I enjoyed intimate performances from legends like Swamp Dogg and Wynonna Judd, capped off by a Gospel Brunch featuring Sheryl Crow at City Winery. Her sneak peek of new music, including “Freight Train,” was unforgettable.

AMERICANAFEST is a treasure trove of talent and community, and I can’t recommend it enough. The connections made and music shared are what make Nashville truly special.
