AMON AMARTH is gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated album, The Allfather Awakens, set to drop on October 2 via Metal Blade Records. In a recent chat with Thomas Moser from Germany’s Rock Antenne, frontman Johan Hegg shared his thoughts on the creative process behind the album.

Hegg expressed a mix of excitement and nervousness as the release date approaches. “I would like to release the songs the minute we close the door to the studio,” he admitted, highlighting the anticipation that comes with sharing new music. However, he also acknowledged the inherent anxiety of wondering how fans will receive their work.

When discussing the songwriting process, Hegg emphasized that the band only writes music they believe will make it onto the album. This time, they recorded 11 songs, but ultimately chose to keep the final track count to 10, setting aside one that didn’t meet their high standards.

As they prepare for their upcoming North American tour with DETHKLOK and CASTLE RAT, AMON AMARTH promises a fresh concert experience inspired by Oden’s legendary Golden Hall. Fans can expect a powerful performance that captures the essence of their new album.
