NAPALM DEATH’s New Album Likely Delayed Until Late 2027

In a recent chat with “Reckless” Rexx Ruger on Pod Scum, Shane Embury, bassist of the legendary grindcore band NAPALM DEATH, revealed that fans may have to wait until late 2027 for their next studio album. The band is currently in the songwriting phase, collaborating once again with their longtime producer, Russ Russell, at Parlour Studios in Kettering, UK.

Shane shared insights into their creative process, mentioning that while the foundational elements of the music are being laid down, the final arrangements are still flexible. “It’s a weird way of doing it, but it allows for creativity,” he explained, emphasizing that drummer Danny Herrera will have the freedom to explore his own rhythms as they develop the tracks.

As for lyrics, frontman Mark Greenway is expected to start writing while on tour this November. Although Shane hopes for a release before summer 2027, he cautioned that it might take longer due to their touring commitments.

Fans can look forward to a mix of new ideas, including the possibility of an extended track inspired by listener feedback. NAPALM DEATH continues to push the boundaries of grindcore, maintaining their status as pioneers in the genre.
