Pearl Jam Thanks Abe Laboriel Jr. After Ohana Festival Set

Pearl Jam has expressed their gratitude to drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. following his recent performances at the Ohana Festival. The band made a surprise appearance during Eddie Vedder’s solo set, where Laboriel Jr. filled in on drums, and he also joined them for their headlining show on Sunday.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Vedder thanked fans for making the festival a memorable experience, stating, “Three days of great groups, all of whom were further energized by the pumped-up vibes from a perfect crowd. You all made our tenth year so special and we are GRATEFUL.” He also acknowledged Laboriel Jr.’s exceptional talent, saying, “It was a joy to play with him, and he’s obviously extraordinary at his craft.”

Laboriel Jr., known for his long-standing work with Paul McCartney, brought his impressive skills to the stage, but it seems his time with Pearl Jam was meant to be temporary. As fans eagerly await news on a permanent drummer to replace Matt Cameron, who left the band last year, bassist Jeff Ament hinted that the band has someone in mind but remains cautious about making any announcements.
