Glam metal icons Mötley Crüe are celebrating a significant milestone as they inch closer to their first diamond-certified album in the U.S. The RIAA has recently awarded the band a series of platinum and gold certifications, marking a triumphant moment in their illustrious career.

As of October 1st, their fifth studio album, Dr. Feelgood, has achieved an impressive 9x platinum status, just one step away from the coveted diamond certification, which signifies 10x platinum sales. This achievement underscores the album’s enduring popularity since its release.

Alongside Dr. Feelgood, several of the band’s classic singles have also received new certifications. Notably, “Kickstart My Heart” has been recognized with a 2x platinum certification, while tracks like “Home Sweet Home,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and “Live Wire” have all reached platinum status. Additionally, several other hits have been certified gold.

It’s worth noting that Mötley Crüe sold the rights to their catalog to BMG in 2021, a deal valued around $150 million. Despite this, the band’s legacy continues to thrive as they reach new heights in their career.
