In a recent chat with Chile’s Radio Futuro, Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens opened up about his tenure with the iconic heavy metal band Judas Priest. The Ohio native, who joined the band during a challenging era for heavy metal, discussed the unique circumstances surrounding his arrival.

Owens recorded two studio albums with Judas Priest: the 1997 release Jugulator and the 2001 follow-up Demolition. Despite the hurdles, he embraced the opportunity to contribute to the band’s legacy, even as they faced a shifting musical landscape.

Reflecting on his experiences, Owens noted, ‘I couldn’t have joined Judas Priest at a worse time for heavy metal.’ His insights shed light on the complexities and struggles that defined his time with the legendary group.
