ACCEPT’s Wolf Hoffmann Reflects on 90s Albums Ahead of Anniversary Release

In a recent interview with Neil Jones of TotalRock, ACCEPT’s guitarist Wolf Hoffmann opened up about the band’s journey through the 1990s, a time he admits was challenging for them. Hoffmann stated that during this era, heavy metal faced significant shifts, leading to some albums that he feels didn’t receive the recognition they deserved.

“We released some albums in the ’90s that I’m less proud of because it was kind of a weird time for us,” Hoffmann explained. He noted that the band’s style evolved significantly during this period, as they struggled to adapt to the grunge movement dominating the music scene.

Looking back, Hoffmann expressed a desire to forget the ’90s entirely but took pride in the reimagined version of their song “Hellhammer,” which will feature on their upcoming 50th-anniversary album, Teutonic Titans 1976–2026, set for release on September 4, 2026. This ambitious project showcases 19 reworked tracks with contributions from 50 guest artists, including legends like Rob Halford and Kirk Hammett.

As ACCEPT prepares to celebrate five decades of heavy metal, fans can expect a fresh take on classic hits, blending the band’s iconic sound with new collaborations that promise to breathe new life into their storied discography.
