Lucy Dacus took the stage at the Newport Folk Festival and brought the house down with an incredible lineup of surprise guests. Known for her collaborative spirit, Dacus has recently featured on tracks with her boygenius bandmate Phoebe Bridgers, Smidley, and Madi Diaz.
During her set, she first welcomed Hayley Williams to perform the captivating track “Bullseye” from Dacus’s album Forever Is A Feeling. The energy soared even higher when Dacus joined Williams later for her own set. Together, they delivered a stunning rendition of Madi Diaz’s “Heavy Metal,” which is set to appear on Diaz’s upcoming “UN-unplugged” version of Fatal Optimist.
As if that wasn’t enough, Dacus also brought out Brandon Flowers for a heartfelt cover of Jim Croce’s classic “Time In A Bottle.” The chemistry between these artists made for a memorable night at Newport, showcasing the power of collaboration in music.
