In a heartfelt tribute to one of hip-hop’s most iconic figures, Putnam Avenue in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy neighborhood has officially been renamed ODB Jones Way. The ceremony took place yesterday, uniting friends, family, and local officials to celebrate the legacy of Wu-Tang Clan co-founder Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Born Russell Tyrone Jones in nearby Fort Greene, ODB’s influence on music and culture is undeniable. His brother, Ramsey Jones, shared touching memories during the event, highlighting the significance of the location. The new street sign stands proudly at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Putnam Avenue, right by their grandmother’s home, ensuring that ODB’s spirit remains rooted in the community.

Additionally, the block features a vibrant mural depicting the cover of ODB’s debut album, Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version, further cementing his legacy in the neighborhood he called home.
