WARRANT’s Steven Sweet Opens Up About Health Struggles

In a candid interview with Anthony Bryant of The Hair Metal Guru, WARRANT drummer Steven Sweet shared his journey through health challenges, including a prostate cancer scare in 2018. Sweet revealed that the cancer was contained and opted for surgery to remove it, emphasizing the physical and emotional impacts of such a procedure.

“The cancer issue, that’s gone. It was encapsulated, which means it hadn’t spread, so I decided to have it surgically removed,” he explained. However, he noted the long-term effects of the surgery, particularly on his bodily functions.

Sweet also discussed ongoing health issues, including shoulder pain and arthritis, stating, “I’m crumbling inside in other ways.” Despite these challenges, he remains determined to continue drumming. “I’ll keep going as long as I can keep going,” he affirmed, drawing inspiration from other athletes who have played through injuries.

WARRANT’s latest album, Louder Harder Faster, was released in May 2017, and fans can expect the band’s signature energy to continue as Sweet pushes through his health battles.
