In a recent interview on Rock 102.1 KFMA’s Razor, SHINEDOWN guitarist Zach Myers opened up about bassist Eric Bass’s decision to step back from the current tour to prioritize his mental health. This important move comes as the band embarks on the North American leg of their ‘Dance, Kid, Dance Act II’ world tour, which kicked off on July 11 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

Myers emphasized the demanding nature of touring and the necessity for Bass to take a break. He stated, “It was important for him to kind of take a mental stock and take a step back and just kind of take some time at home.” While Bass is away, Josh Sturm of KAIROS and Zack Mack will fill in, showcasing the band’s commitment to maintaining their high-performance standards.

Eric Bass, who has been with SHINEDOWN since 2008, recently shared his struggles with mental health, revealing he is undergoing therapy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to take this break, encouraging others facing similar challenges to seek help.

As SHINEDOWN continues to advocate for mental health awareness, Myers highlighted the band’s mission to uplift their audience during live shows, making every performance a positive experience.
