Down’s New Album ‘Volume V’ Pays Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

Down is back with their highly anticipated album, Volume V, set to drop on November 20, 2026. This marks the band’s first full-length release since Down III: Over the Under in 2007 and their first since the Down IV – Part II EP in 2014.

The New Orleans supergroup, featuring Pantera’s Phil Anselmo, Corrosion of Conformity’s Pepper Keenan, and others, has crafted an album that blends classic Down vibes with fresh elements. Anselmo expressed excitement about the album, stating, “There was a sense of lightness in the air. Everyone’s attitude was positive. It just felt fresh again.”

One standout track, “Twice-Told Tales,” draws inspiration from the legendary Ozzy Osbourne. Anselmo noted, “I could feel Ozzy Osbourne’s influence on me in the strangest way,” showcasing the impact the rock icon has had on the band. The album also features a collaboration with King Diamond on the track “Merciful Fate.”
