Enslaved Unveils New Single ‘Solar Will’ and Upcoming Album ‘Mið’

Norwegian prog metal pioneers Enslaved are set to make waves this October with the release of their highly anticipated album, Mið, dropping on the 30th through Nuclear Blast Records. The band has just shared their electrifying new single, ‘Solar Will,’ featuring a special appearance by Sami musician Johan Sara Jr.

The title Mið, which translates to ‘center’ in Old Norse, reflects the album’s exploration of harmonies and dialogues that connect the past with the present. Guitarist Ivar Bjørnson describes the single as a celebration of the sun’s dual nature—both nurturing and destructive. He states, “Such a classic and awe-inspiring object of our worship and myths requires classic and awesome riffs, Bonham-esque drum grooves, and blistering melodic flares celebrating its horrific glory.”

Bassist and vocalist Grutle Kjellson adds depth to the track’s narrative, highlighting the archetypal conflicts found in nature and mythology. The lyrics invite listeners to engage and interpret the story themselves, emphasizing the importance of chaos and dreams in our lives.
