In an exciting announcement for rock fans, U2 has dropped a fresh cover of the Pogues’ classic “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.” This track is part of the highly anticipated tribute album titled 20th Century Paddy: The Songs of Shane MacGowan, set to release on November 13, 2026.

The album features an impressive lineup of artists, including Bruce Springsteen, who contributes “A Rainy Night in Soho,” and Tom Waits with his rendition of “Summer in Siam.” U2’s the Edge expressed admiration for Shane MacGowan, emphasizing the unique blend of styles and emotions he brought to his music.

In a heartfelt statement, the Edge noted, “What he did with that voice was remarkable… he pulled together threads that shouldn’t quite fit — folk tradition, political memory, gallows humour, romance — and made them sound inevitable.” Proceeds from the album will benefit the Dublin Simon Community, supporting those experiencing homelessness in Dublin.

As anticipation builds, fans can look forward to U2’s contribution alongside other iconic artists, celebrating the legacy of a true music legend.
