Levon Helm Studios is currently embroiled in a contentious situation, struggling to process refunds for a series of canceled shows. This turmoil stems from an ongoing dispute among the venue’s owners, which has led to significant operational challenges.

Since the passing of Levon Helm in 2012, his daughter Amy Helm has held a 40% stake in the studio, alongside her stepmother, Sandra Helm. However, tensions escalated when Amy was removed from management in May, leading to Brian Parillo taking the helm as CEO. In a dramatic turn, Amy accused Parillo of financial exploitation and elder abuse, claiming her ousting was a form of extortion.

Recently, Levon Helm Studios filed a federal lawsuit against Amy, alleging misuse of funds that cost the company around $2 million. As ticketholders seek refunds, many have received emails indicating that funds for upcoming shows are no longer available, with management placing blame on Amy for the financial mismanagement.

Despite the chaos, some shows are still going on, including performances by The Devil Makes Three and Laith Al-Saadi. Meanwhile, Amy Helm is set to embark on a tour supporting rock legend Roger Daltrey starting tonight.
