My Chemical Romance Hints at New Album During Tour Finale

My Chemical Romance wrapped up the North American leg of their 2026 Black Parade Tour on September 12 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, leaving fans buzzing with excitement. During the show, lead singer Gerard Way hinted at the long-awaited ‘MCR5,’ stating, ‘Just know that we’ve kind of really always wanted to make another record.’ Although he tempered expectations by saying they didn’t know when it would be released, the crowd erupted in cheers, eager for new music.

The band has not released a studio album since 2010’s ‘Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys,’ making this announcement even more significant. They closed their nearly three-hour performance with ‘The Foundations of Decay,’ dedicating the song to the late co-producer Doug McKean.

Adding to the spectacle, MCR welcomed metal icon King Diamond to the stage for a surprise duet during ‘Mama,’ where he even knighted the band members. This tour has been a magical journey, and while the San Antonio show marked the end of their stadium tour, MCR still has upcoming dates, including several at the Hollywood Bowl and an Asian tour leg in November.
