In an exciting turn for fans, Sammy Hagar has announced that he’s ready to move beyond his Van Halen legacy. While his current residency in Las Vegas celebrates his time with the iconic band, Hagar expressed a desire to dive deeper into his solo catalog during future performances.

Speaking with SiriusXM’s Eddie Trunk, Hagar stated, “I’m kinda done with being the Van Halen guy.” He plans to incorporate more of his extensive discography, including hits from Montrose and his early solo work, into his shows. This shift comes after the success of his Best of All Worlds tour, which originally launched in 2024.

Hagar’s Las Vegas residency, featuring longtime collaborators Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani, is likely the last chance for fans to catch a heavy dose of Van Halen classics live. However, the Red Rocker is eager to explore new musical avenues, including a long-gestating space opera project he hopes to bring to life.

As he gears up for a break after this year’s birthday bash, Hagar is contemplating his next steps, stating, “I never even thought that was possible. I’ve only got so many miles left on my f–ing tires.” With a career spanning over five decades, fans are eager to see where his artistic journey takes him next.
