After nearly three decades of silence, nu metal pioneers Snot are making a triumphant return to the music scene. The Santa Barbara band, known for their explosive sound and the late frontman Lynn Strait, is back in action, ready to reclaim their place in rock history.
Following the tragic loss of Strait in 1998, Snot disbanded, leaving fans longing for more. However, recent surges in nu metal’s popularity have sparked interest in their reunion. Guitarist Mikey Doling shared that they found their new frontman, Andy Knapp, through a serendipitous audition process that reignited their passion for music.
With a fresh lineup and new material in the works, Snot is currently recording at Jonathan Davis’s studio in Bakersfield, with nine songs already completed. Doling expressed excitement about the new tracks, which promise to deliver the classic Snot sound that fans adore.
As they gear up for upcoming shows, including a highly anticipated performance in Nashville, Snot is ready to honor Lynn’s legacy while forging ahead with their unique blend of rap, metal, and funk. The new album is expected to drop in 2027, and the energy surrounding the band is palpable.
