Fontaines D.C. are back and ready to rock! After a brief hiatus following their 2024 album Romance, the band made a triumphant return to the stage at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain. This performance marked their first since the passing of their beloved manager, Trevor Dietz, who was often referred to as the ‘sixth member’ of the band.
During their set, fans were treated to the debut of two brand-new songs: ‘Marianne’ and ‘Six Shot Morning.’ The track ‘Marianne’ carries a distinctive Depeche Mode influence, while ‘Six Shot Morning’ takes a darker, synth-driven approach. Both songs hint at an exciting evolution in the band’s sound, continuing the Lynchian themes explored in their previous work.
Fontaines D.C. performed a stellar setlist that included fan favorites like ‘Boys In The Better Land’ and ‘Televised Mind,’ alongside the new tracks. Their return to live music is a welcome sight for fans eagerly awaiting more from this dynamic band.
