ZZ Top is set to carry on with their The Big One! Tour following the recent passing of their legendary drummer, Frank Beard. The band made the announcement after Beard’s death, emphasizing that this is what he would have wanted.

Frank Beard, who had been with the band for an impressive 56 years, passed away at his ranch in Richmond, Texas, surrounded by family. His absence will be felt deeply, but the remaining members are determined to honor his legacy.

After canceling a couple of shows in Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs, ZZ Top will return to the stage this weekend with two performances at Austin City Limits—one of Beard’s favorite venues. Following those shows, they’ll head to Terre Haute, Indiana, on August 29, before making a notable stop in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Ascend Amphitheater on September 26.

Billy Gibbons, the band’s remaining original member, expressed his sentiments, stating, “The world lost one of the most naturally innovative drummers and a great and true son of Texas.” He reassured fans that the band will continue to perform, staying true to Beard’s spirit.
