Slipknot’s New Single Arsenal Won’t Be on Upcoming Album

Slipknot fans have been buzzing about the band’s latest single, “Arsenal,” but guitarist Jim Root has clarified that the track won’t be part of their upcoming eighth album. In a recent statement, Root described the song as “not really representative” of the material they are currently crafting.

Released as a surprise, “Arsenal” was intended to be a quick release while the band continues to work on their new music. Root emphasized that the song differs significantly from the other tracks they are developing, stating, “This was just one that we could finish sooner to get out there.” This marks the first new release from Slipknot since DJ Sid Wilson’s departure.

While no official release date for the eighth album has been announced, Root mentioned that they are collaborating with longtime producer Matt Wallace and have around 50 song ideas in the works. He expressed excitement about the new material, saying it feels both fresh and familiar, capturing the essence of Slipknot.
