In a significant development, the legal battle involving Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has hit another snag. A second judge has recused herself from the case brought by Julia Misley, who alleges that Tyler sexually assaulted her when she was a minor in the 1970s.

Misley, formerly known as Julia Holcomb, filed her lawsuit under the Child Victims Act, a law that temporarily lifted the statute of limitations for victims of childhood sexual abuse. The trial was scheduled to commence on September 28, but with the latest recusal, the case has been removed from the calendar.

Los Angeles County Judge Patricia A. Young disclosed a potential conflict of interest, leading to her decision to step down. Misley’s legal team and Tyler’s representatives could not reach an agreement to waive this conflict, prompting the judge’s withdrawal.

Tyler has consistently denied the allegations, arguing that their relationship was legal under Massachusetts law, where the age of consent was 16 at the time. Despite having some claims dismissed, Misley’s lawyers successfully argued that California laws applied to the case.

This case continues to unfold, and with two judges now recusing themselves, it raises questions about the future proceedings. Stay tuned for updates as this story develops.
