In a heartfelt announcement, Shinedown bassist Eric Bass has decided to step away from the band’s North American tour to focus on his mental health. The tour kicks off this weekend in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, but Bass revealed he is currently undergoing treatment for a serious mental health crisis.

In a candid video shared on social media, Bass expressed his struggles and emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental well-being. He is receiving electrical stimulation therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina, which he hopes will aid in his recovery.

While Bass is taking this necessary break, friends Josh Sturm and Zack Mack will fill in for him during the initial tour dates. He reassured fans that he is committed to returning as soon as he is able, stating, “I want to be out there. It’s killing me to not be there.”

Bass’s openness about his mental health journey serves as a reminder of the importance of seeking help when needed. He encourages others facing similar challenges to reach out and take the time they need for recovery.
