Trusselina, the new duo formed by Mikaela Oppenheimer of Hello Mary and Hayden McGarvey from Bleary Eyed, has just dropped their debut single featuring two tracks: “Gastro” and “Trusselina Archimboldi.” This marks a fresh sonic direction for both artists, who are known for their previous emo and shoegaze styles.

Their new sound is a unique blend of glitchy, electro-folk bedroom pop, intertwining pretty harmonies and acoustic guitar with unexpected effects and rapid breakbeats. It’s a captivating mix that draws comparisons to contemporary acts like ear and Bassvictim.

In a fun anecdote, Oppenheimer shared that the beat for “Trusselina Archimboldi” was created by McGarvey during a tour in France, right before an unfortunate incident involving food poisoning. Despite the chaos, the duo’s creativity shines through in their music.
