In an exciting update for rock fans, GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna recently revealed plans for new music during an interview at Rocklahoma festival. The band is set to begin writing a follow-up to their 2023 album, Lighting Up The Sky, with new tracks expected by summer 2027.
Erna shared that after a busy schedule leading up to New Year’s Eve, he and his bandmates will take a brief hiatus before diving into the creative process. The current lineup, featuring Erna on vocals and guitar, bassist Robbie Merrill, guitarist Sam Koltun, and drummer Mike Mangini, is reportedly stronger than ever.
With Mangini stepping in after the departure of longtime drummer Shannon Larkin, Erna expressed confidence in the new dynamic, highlighting the excitement of their iconic Battle Of The Drums segment during live shows. He mentioned that while Mangini is still settling into the role, the chemistry is undeniable.
As GODSMACK gears up for their upcoming fall 2026 tour, where they will be joined by DOROTHY, fans can look forward to a thrilling live experience. The tour kicks off on October 9 in Airway Heights, Washington, and will include major cities across the U.S.
