In a touching tribute, AEW dedicated the September 12th episode of ‘Collision’ to the late Andy Williams, known for his roles as both a professional wrestler and a guitarist for Every Time I Die. The show featured emotional video packages showcasing tributes from fellow wrestlers and AEW staff, celebrating Williams’ legacy.
A ten-bell salute was held in his honor, alongside The Butcher Battle Royale, which offered a $100,000 prize to benefit a charity in Williams’ name. Friends and fans donned AW armbands, paying homage to his iconic entrance and mannerisms.
Jesse “The Blade” Guilmette, Williams’ longtime tag partner, shared a heartfelt statement during the broadcast, expressing gratitude for the support from fans and AEW. He emphasized, “Andy was the most talented person that I ever met. But I think we all can agree that he was an even better friend.”
Williams tragically passed away on September 5th during a match in Pittsburgh, PA, leaving behind a legacy that spans both wrestling and music. A public memorial event is set for September 27th at Buffalo Riverworks, featuring musical performances and opportunities to honor his memory.
