RobinAugust is kicking off release day with coffee, a live show, and a fresh chapter in her evolving sound. The singer-songwriter-guitarist, formerly of Queens of Noise, is set to release “Parasite” on May 27 via Position Music, and she’ll celebrate it that night with a headline set in The ’58 at Eastside Bowl in Nashville. The performance launches a short four-date mini tour that will also hit New York City, Columbus, Ohio, and Los Angeles.

Co-written with Emma Ruchefsky, “Parasite” finds RobinAugust leaning into a bigger, more polished pop-rock sound while still keeping the emotional edge that’s defined her work. The track follows earlier Position Music singles “Bad Idea,” “Slipping Away,” and “Hospital Bed,” and it digs into anxiety, insecurity, and the fear of not being enough. It’s a raw theme delivered with punchy dynamics, starting stripped back before building into a fuller, cathartic arrangement.

RobinAugust’s path has taken her from founding the all-girl teen punk band Queens of Noise, to Berklee College of Music, to her 2022 debut album Avocado Head, a concept record that showcased her growth as a writer and vocalist. Fans heading to Eastside Bowl can expect a mix of new songs, a few cuts from Avocado Head, and some unreleased material that may land on a future Position Music EP.

You may hear classic rock, modern rock, alternative, indie, folk-rock, Southern rock, pop-rock, punk, metal, acoustic-driven songs, local Nashville artists, and emerging independent acts. And every hour, we play an “out-of-the-box mystery song” that could be rock, could be metal, could be classic, could be pop, could be a deep-cut, could be a remix, could be a mashup, or could be a song you never heard or one you loved but forgot about. This is radio for listeners who still love discovery.
